Mooresville, N.C. (June 7, 2016) When the Dirt Classic brand was launched at Lincoln Speedway in 2014, it was natural for Kasey Kahne to incorporate the Kasey Kahne Foundation as the inaugural event’s Presenter. The event’s mission – to give back to the sprint car community that Kahne began his career in – aligned well with the Foundation’s mission to give back to chronically ill children and their families.
Two years later, the Dirt Classic has expanded to become a premier series of sprint car events that spans four states over the course of six dates, as well as a premier partner of the Kasey Kahne Foundation.
The Dirt Classic brand has already donated over $33,000 to the Kasey Kahne Foundation, and the Foundation is proud to be aligned with Dirt Classic events in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Nebraska this racing season.
In 2016, as a partner of the Dirt Classic, the Foundation was the recipient of the 50/50 proceeds at I-80 Speedway generously donated during the Dirt Classic I-80 on May 6. They will also receive the 50/50 donations made at Lincoln Speedway at the Showcase Race on June 11 and at the Dirt Classic on September 24, and at Kokomo Speedway on July 23, courtesy of the track and event promoters. Attica Raceway Park and the Dirt Classic Ohio have also agreed to donate $5,000 during the event on August 3.
“We have been blown away by the generous response of Dirt Classic fans over the past three years,” Kahne said. “We appreciate each and every fan and driver that is purchasing a 50/50 ticket or making a donation to help us support children and families in need.”
Kahne, a fervent supporter of sprint car racing, launched the Kasey Kahne Foundation in 2005. Since it’s inception, the Foundation has donated more than $1,400,000 to children’s charities. In addition to supporting chronically ill children and their families, the Foundation also strives to empower youth and inspire their future through education by donating to programs dedicated to fulfilling children’s needs for success.
Partnering with brands like the Dirt Classic is one of the many ways that the Foundation looks to get its mission out to sprint car fans, and sprint car fans have generously responded by purchasing 50/50 tickets and Dirt Classic t-shirts, a portion of which benefits the Foundation, making donations, sharing messages of support, and registering for Foundation events like the annual Five Kahne.
It seems that ‘giving back’ is a concept that’s embraced by sprint car fans and event promoters alike – and the relationship between the Kasey Kahne Foundation and the Dirt Classic highlights that perfectly to the benefit of sick children and their families.
